This is the bike I'm thinking about renting: Ducati Multistrada 1200s from !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! .
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
Long story short: my bike probably won't be ready for this bike trip I'm taking with some friends so I'm looking into renting. Turns out, there's some awesome shit out there for not too bad of price (i.e. less expensive than I thought it would be.)

He hasn't been around here for a good long while...why doesn't ride apart show up in the Jalop-related blog list anymore?

Most riders don't understand how inexpensive it is to rent. I have convinced most of my Canadian friends, who used to pay big money to ship their bikes, to do a fly and ride. They are not that expensive to rent. Usually under $150 a day. Hope you are used to riding a super bike. I have heard the Multistrada will try to tear your arms out of their sockets. :)

That's the slowest one this company rents. I've ridden a few sport bikes in the past but never owned one. I got to ride a CBR600RR in anger the last trip we took and did pretty well, I also got to ride my buddy's BMW S1000 recently which was crazy fast but surprisingly well mannered. That's kind of what I'm hoping for with this.
I think I'll be all right on it, I've been riding since 18 (28 now) and I'm more just curious about the process and whether $150/day is worth it. Sounds like it, no?

Agree, it is. You get a new bike and no worries. I know that it is not a top of the line but it a dual sport. That thing is way powerful for that. Decent credit and decent insurance is really all you need. You've got enough years riding to know what to do. Have fun.
